SS 2014 03 - Porfirio on the horizon

In this month's screenshot I tried to leave my old and well trodden trailways, only for a step or two, but all the same new ground for me.
The same old conky clock has a new font and has moved into the center, lots of other conky stuff is missing and giving space to the void of the wallpaper. On top of that two new conky instances are showing rss feeds: two rss conkys, six newsfeeds, rotated by ifupdatenr.

All nice and clean - and useless. I don't like it.

The clock in the center is behind some window 90% of the time and therefore not visible at a glance - bad design.

The rss feeds in conky have lots of problems, images or html tags in the description are not parsed, titles and descriptions are often longer than the window is wide (and line wrap does not exist) and - of course - no item is clickable to get more information. I have found no ready-to-apply rss solution for conky and after looking into the xml files that get received and into sed I started to get really tired. Maybe the conky stuff looks nice, but the pain of setting up newsbeuter will probably be the lesser evil.

So this month nothing but playing a bit and some new old wallpapers.

All real functionality is hidden in three KDE panels, which I can and probably will show in another screenshot soon (for values of "soon" like "not before tomorrow").
